Mark — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Mark is a Markdown viewer and editor for macOS published by Intro Labs (“we”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Mark and its Quick Look extensions.
The short version
Mark does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Your documents
- Documents you open are read and rendered entirely on your Mac. Their contents are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
- When a document references local images, Mark asks for permission to read that folder. The permission is saved on your Mac (as a macOS security-scoped bookmark) so you aren’t asked again. You can revoke it by deleting the app’s data.
Network access
Mark itself does not contact any server operated by us. The only network requests the app makes are the ones your documents ask for: if a Markdown file embeds a remote image (for example ), Mark loads that image from its host when you open the document, just like a web browser would. That host may see your IP address, as it would for any web request.
The Quick Look preview and thumbnail extensions block all remote content, so previewing a file in Finder never makes a network request.
Preferences
Your settings (such as the light/dark appearance) are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS preferences. They never leave your device.
Children
Mark does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new “Last updated” date.
